TPP notes

Notes from tutorial w/ Lindsay:

focus on smaller topics for the blog posts – these may be too broad for the small word count

LLM disclaimer

I used ChatGPT to help me find a data source that Lindsay mentioned in a tutorial after I couldn’t find it via a search engine. The citation comes from the mentioned OECD report directly, following a review of the contents.

Hello World!

Hi, my name is Marysia and I’m an Associate Lecturer at UAL Creative Computing Institute. For the past year and a half, I have been teaching across postgraduate and undergraduate courses including MSc Creative Computing, MA/MSc Computing and Creative Industry (Modular), and BSc Creative Computing. I mostly teach topics related to creative coding and managing data.

I have also completed two postgraduate courses at UAL: MSc Creative Computing and MRes Creative Computing. My recently finished MRes research project focuses on the experiences of people with concentration problems and fatigue, and their relationship with digital making. It originated from my personal experience with long covid and the positive impact of my digital making practice.

My previous background lies between architecture, parametric modelling, furniture design and software development. I particularly enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and learning new skills hands-on. At university, I really appreciated a learning-by-doing pedagogical approach and am trying to introduce the same to my current students.

As I am relatively new to teaching, in the PGCert I’m hoping to develop my teaching skills, expand my knowledge about teaching practices, and and techniques, with particular focus on enhancing student engagement.
